friday 12th november

We are now sitting in a nice green caravan park at Armidale. Yesterday was a long and rather too eventful day. Started off at 10am after barry and roy did a minor repair to the caravan. Nice drive through Kangaroo valley and the southern highlands. Stopped for lunch at Campbelltown,. and sicnce we needed bread, set off into a shopping centre to find it. Walked a long way through the multilevel carpark, before we finally found the shops, thanks to a lady who gave us directions
Then we tried to set the sat nav to take us along the M7 which goes all round the west of Sydney.Very frustratingly, it didnt put M7 on the route summary, though it had taken us that way before. We finally discovered it was taking us that route anyway, just not calling it M7! Once we got onto the cumberland highway, which is a nasty narrow three lane highway through west sydney suburbs, we decided to go to the Craft Depot at pennant hills, right on the highway. They always have cheap patchwork fabric, and when we got there discovered 20% off their usual prices, so i got some great fabric, ,mainly for the orphanage quilts, for $5, $8 and $12 per metre. Unfortunately we clipped a car with our caravan, so that will be a nasty insurance excess bill when we get home :((

More freeway driving on the way to newcastle and singleton, and again a bunch of bellbirds (and a great chocolate thickshake for B) at a truck stop.
A very long day of driving, and a noisy caravan park right next to the new england highway. And its getting hot. I liked it in northern victoria better!

today we have had a much easier day, though still a bit too hot. tomorrow we go to meet waldens at a caravan park out from stanthorpe. We'll stay till monday or wednesday depending on how hot the weather is.
