Day 11-13

"Update of the last couple of days:

Friday we went to the quilt show (AQC). The absolute best part was the actual quilts: 3 fantastic shows plus others. "The best of the best""was a lot of the prize winning quilts from the last year or so. Fantastic to see "in the flesh" as it were. So much amazing detail, and the quilting was just incredible on all of them. Then there was "Imagine that" which is an international competition, with 50 quilts being displayed. Such a huge variety from different countries, and all different techniques. Tnd the tutors show which is quilts by the tutors at the convention. Also amazing!

I spent lots of money at about 5 different stalls, some of it on not very interesting stuff like fabric to print photos on and applique bonding stuff. But also some fantastic threads and fabric paints which I cant wait to use, and a few beads and fat quarters.

This was a tiring day, but fantastic. Barry came and didnt complain at all!

Yesterday we slept in, had breakfast late, then went in to the city to federation square and the southgate shop and eating place, then caught a free city circle tram and toured all aroung the outside of the central city. That was interesting, if not very comfy.

We left the car park at 4.30pm. TOM TOm (GPS) didnt work in the car park of course- too much concrete. So we had to guess which way to go to start with , and guessed wrong. Then we were in the middle of big tall buildings and tom tom kept changing our position and the route we should go - obviously not enough satelittes could see us. We got totally mucked up by no right turns, one way steets, and cars in the tram ways that stipped us turning. It ended up taking us a long way round, and took, 50 mins to get home after 20 mins to get in!! Very frustrating and stressful!!

Today we wont do too much - have an easy day . . . .maybe do some washing . . .

Tomorrow night we go to Tassie!"
