Sunday: we got up at 5:30, so we could be on the road at 6:30. We were told 2hrs 4WD to the visitors centr, and another 3/4 hr to the Cathedral Gorge car park. It actually took a little less, and was an adventure in itself! Only 4WD allowed on the road - many thanks to Phil for driving !
I was planning to do the Dome loop walk, and have a go at Cathedral Gorge, turning back if necessary. I actually did it all, and it was So spectacular! So pleased I didn't miss out. We were early enough that the walk into the gorge was mostly in shade, and that helped a lot; it was harder coming out in the sun. Also the temp was probably under 30 , with a cool breeze, and we took our time doing it, with lots of photo stops, etc. And Jackie was really encouraging - that helped too!
