Thursday morning we saw the sunrise again as we got up at 6am to go on a boat ride up the Geikie Gorge. Another spectacular place, this time with limestone walls, which are bleached halfway up by the flood waters of the fitzroy each wet season.
We saw lots of freshwater crocs, which are a lot smaller than the salties, and not really dangerous unless provoked.
Afterwards we were talking Tito the driver/tour guide. He said the aborigine problems had been getting bigger , and fitzroy crossing was getting a bad name like halls creek, but a small group of elders took control and severely discipline those causing problems; things are now a lot better. Good to hear!
