Day 27 - (thursday) - to Lake Tekapo

SMS received Friday morning: "Drove from the coast up into the mountains Thurs. The views got better almost all day. Beside lakes part of the way. They are an amazing milky green! The area near Mt Cook is different to the west coast mts. you are more in a valley surrounded by snowy mts and bits of snow come right to the ground. We had afternoon tea at the foot of a mt near a clear mt stream. Now we are on the shores of lake Tekapo with snowy mts over the other side. And I think no signal."
