well, less than 24hrs before we leave NZ. What a beautiful country and what a fantastic time we've had! so glad we have photos to remember it all, the time has been packed with amazing sights.
today we drove into Christchurch and got on the tourist tram around the central city. Stopped off at Cathedral square - the cathedral wasnt as nice as some of the little churches we've been in. Then the arts centre and the arts centre weekend markets. Nice things to see, and nice things to eat! I really like Christchurch as a city - its flat which is great for the knees and lungs, and doesnt have big skyscrapers, has lots of parks and theres spring flowers everywhere! Beautiful weather again! Max 19 I think - just perfect.
After that we went to the air force museum, which was very well set up and displayed, and free - that was a change. Now we are in a close caravan park to the airport. Tomorrow we go to the antarctic tourist thingy, which is right beside the airport - very convenient!
We wont be sorry to get home to our own beds - the camper leaves something to be desired in this respect. But we've had a wonderful time. Barry reckons he'll have to rest for a month to catch up - he's slept ok and for long enough, but we've been busy almost the whole time. I reckon it will take me at least a month to download, name and edit my photos . . .I've kept a list of what I've taken, so at least that is possible!
Looking forward to seeing my lovely family and friends . . .
