Day 29 - to Akaroa

SMS this afternoon: "An early stop today at Akaroa. We drove straight out to Banks Peninsular this morning and drove all around it on the summit rd. Absolutely stunning! After the flat Canterbury Plains we were back to very steep green hills with a tiny road snaking along their side. And for most of the way we could see the brilliant blue green of Akaroa harbour. Akaroa is a lovely little village quiet and peacefl. The caravan park has a great view and Barry is really tired so we decided to stay the night. Christchurch tomorrow."
