Day 28 - to Ashburton

SMS recieved Friday afternoon: "Freezing wind last night but woke this morning to a beautiful warm sunny day. Lake Tekapo was lovely with its mountainous background. All blue and sparkling. Drove up to Mt John observatory and amazing 260 degree views. Then the beautiful little church beside the lake. It has a big window behind the altar looking directly onto the lake and mts. No need for preaching! Then we sadly left the mts and drove to Timaru and then Ashburon. Lots and lots of daffodils everywhere. So brilliantly bright!"
